HELICONIA PAINTING

This work, "Heliconia" (1999), represents one of the Amazon's most splendid manifestations of plant life. These huge plants are common along newly cleared river edges and their inflorescences colors depend on the species, ranging from orange or red to carmine. The species represented here appears to be Heliconia psittacorum.
