Much of the news coming out of the Amazon is not good (see News). We hear much about uncontrolled burning of the rainforest, logging, mining, usurping of indigenous people's rights. As the greatest treasury of biological wealth on Earth, the Amazon deserves and needs our help. By taking an interest in conservation, the average person (that's you and me) informs the powers-that-be that their decisions and actions are being noticed. In this section you will see and read about some of the less enjoyable scenes I have encountered during my travels. |
