AMAZON RIVER FROM SPACE

As the world's biggest river the Amazon is readily visible from space. Countless images have been taken—from remote-sensing satellites for mapping and resource management, from spy satellites to track illicit activities such as drug trafficking and illegal logging, and from the Space Shuttle and International Space Station to admire the immensity of the river and to inspire interest for its conservation and scientific value.
