MOUNTAIN STREAM

The broad meandering rivers that are our typical impression the Amazon would not exist without the merging and blending of innumerable anonymous streams such as this one. High in the Andes, clouds condense on the high peaks and drop their loads of water on the land, to there sustain a rich and diverse wildlife, or to gather and descend toward the giant rivers of the floodplains.
