PALM EPIPHYTES

Palm trees do not support an epiphyte load like that of other rainforest trees (see Epiphytes). However, the cavities remaining after a palm leaf has fallen or been cut provide ideal habitat for epiphytes, such as this multitude of fern plants. This tree supports at least three different kinds of ferns.
