This bold flower (Aphelandra aurantiaca) belongs to a member of the family Acanthaceae. It grows about two feet in height with broad dark green leaves with ivory-colord veins. (Thanks to Mark Duffell, Young Horticulturist of the Year 2001, UK, for assisting with this identification.)
