Monstera is a genus of mostly epiphytic arums, some of which have edible fruits. One species (M. deliciosa) is the commonly cultivated house plantalso called "swiss cheese plant." These plants have aerial roots that grow downwards, either adhering to the trunk of the host tree, or simply dangling in the air, soaking up water that runs down them. Such dense growth provides habitat for numerous small animals. |
