This capuchin monkey (probably the brown capuchin, Cebus apella) was living in a cage at Leticia Zoo in Colombia, where the zookeepers do their best to look after the animals. But monkeys typically have wide ranges and do not adapt well to living in captivity. The zoo officials tell visitors that animals are kept there only for a short while and then released back into the wild. |
