HARLEQUIN BEETLE

This splendidly decorated beetle (Macrodontia cervicornis) is one of the world's longest beetles. Like the rhinoceros beetle, it is a popular pet for Amazon children. It can reach up to eight inches long—bigger than a man's hand! This species is in the family of Long-horned Beetles (Cerambycidae).
