The crake (most likely the Gray-breasted Crake Laterallus exilis) is a small water bird that is rarely seen due to its secretive habits. This one flew by accident into the window of a boat, falling on the deck. Somewhat dazed, it soon recovered and flew off. This specimen was found in Colombia much further east than previously recorded.
